COMPETITION PRICE, COMPETITION TECHNOLOGY, COMPETITION EDGE
CalAmp’s LMU-200 high-value tracking unit features a small footprint, superior GPS performance, an optional 200mAh internal backup battery, ultra-low sleep modes, three-axis accelerometer for motion and up to four inputs/outputs (I/O) . The LMU-200 is a complete vehicle tracking and communication device that integrates next-generation high-sensitivity GPS technology into CDMA and GPRS mobile networks for installation in any 12/24 volt mobile vehicle. Internal antennas for cellular and GPS eliminate the need for wired antennas and make the LMU-200 mountable virtually anywhere in the vehicle for easy and cost-effective installations. Messages are transmitted over the cellular network using advanced SMS or UDP message transmission and provide a reliable communication connection between the device and your application servers. The LMU-200 is designed to dramatically reduce operating costs, performance, and size while providing excellent field reliability.
Flexibility
The LMU-200 uses CalAmp’s advanced, industry-leading on-board alarm engine, PEG ™ (Programmable Event Generator) to monitor external conditions and support custom exception-based rules to meet your application needs to meet. PEG monitors the vehicle environment and responds immediately to predefined threshold conditions in terms of time, date, motion, location, geozone, input, and other event combinations. This behavior can be programmed by CalAmp before shipping, at a customer’s or over radio once the device has been installed.
Serviceability
The LMU-200 uses CalAmp’s management and maintenance system (programming, update and logistics system) for over-the-air configuration parameters, PEG rules, and firmware. With this out-of-the-box configuration for hands-free setup and automatic post-installation upgrades, the device health can be monitored in your customers’ fleets to detect problems before they become costly problems.
